A series of delicately precise drawings, made using found objects from a walking tour of the region. Surreal and mysterious, they form an exploration of landscape as a repository for the magical and unknown.
Rooted in traditional landscape, Dolores de Sade’s work questions what it is to look at the view – how the creation of a view can obscure as much as it reveals and reveal as much as it obscures. Her influences range from Piranesi and Dore to W G Sebald and Walter Benjamin, sharing similar concerns with the minutae, the over-looked, and historical and personal narrative.
