Swedish artist Lisa Pettersson shows mixed media works evoking feelings of holiday nostalgia. They are a series of ‘postcards’ from Whitstable. Drawing on a shared common past, subject matter is sourced from yellowing, dated family photographs, seaside postcards and other remnants of holidays past. It is a portrait of warm, pastel coloured summers – homely and acutely recognizable, yet at the same time these images are markedly unreal, clichéd and sentimental.
