Following Alain Renais’ vision that libraries are the repositories for all the memories of the world, The Readers will explore the memories of the people of Kent through its great literary heritage.
The Readers will create a literary musical fusion of transcendental post-avant-punk and neo-classicadelica, using a range of instruments, from vintage electronica and handmade Theremins, to the musical saw and harmonized glasses, as well as both classical and untrainable singers.
Books transformed will include Dickens’ Bleak House, Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, Maugham’s Of Human Bondage, Coleridge’s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and T S Eliot’s The Waste Land.
